Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and business-focused Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements, mapping current and future workflows, identifying process gaps, and translating business needs into clear functional specifications for technical and operational teams.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and an excellent communicator who can work closely with stakeholders across departments to ensure solutions are aligned with business goals, operational realities, and user expectations. This person should be comfortable working on process improvements, system implementations, workflow redesign, and user acceptance support in a cross-functional remote environment.

This is a remote USA-based role, ideal for someone who can structure ambiguity, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams, and help drive successful project outcomes through strong analysis and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Management

  • Gather, analyze, and validate business requirements from internal stakeholders, department heads, and end users
  • Conduct meetings, workshops, and discovery sessions to understand business objectives, process pain points, and system needs
  • Ask the right questions to uncover operational challenges, hidden dependencies, and functional expectations
  • Act as a liaison between business teams, product teams, technical teams, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure stakeholder expectations are documented, aligned, and communicated throughout the project lifecycle

Business Analysis & Process Documentation

  • Document current-state and future-state workflows, process maps, use cases, and gap analyses
  • Analyze business operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, redundancies, and improvement opportunities
  • Break down complex operational requirements into structured documentation that technical teams can implement
  • Create business requirement documents, functional requirement specifications, process diagrams, decision logs, and user stories
  • Support process redesign efforts to improve efficiency, scalability, compliance, and user experience

Functional Specifications & Solution Alignment

  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and implementation-ready specifications
  • Work closely with technical teams to clarify system behavior, business rules, logic flows, field requirements, and dependencies
  • Ensure solution designs align with operational requirements, business priorities, and user expectations
  • Review proposed system designs and workflows to confirm they solve the intended business problem
  • Help define acceptance criteria, workflow rules, data requirements, and reporting expectations

Testing, Validation & User Acceptance Support

  • Support test planning by reviewing business requirements and ensuring they are testable and measurable
  • Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and validation criteria based on documented requirements
  • Participate in system testing, workflow validation, and issue review sessions
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and project teams
  • Track issues, requirement gaps, and change requests during testing and implementation phases
  • Ensure final solutions meet documented business needs before go-live

Project Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Support project teams during implementation by clarifying scope, documentation, and business priorities
  • Maintain traceability between business requirements, functional design, testing, and final delivery
  • Assist with change management, training support, and post-implementation reviews
  • Recommend process and system improvements based on user feedback, operational trends, and business needs
  • Contribute to standardization of templates, analysis methods, and documentation practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Operations, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in business analysis, systems analysis, operations analysis, or functional consulting
  • Strong ability to gather, interpret, and document business and functional requirements
  • Experience creating process flows, requirement documents, user stories, and workflow documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder communication, facilitation, and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to structure requirements clearly and translate them into actionable deliverables
  • Experience supporting testing, UAT, and implementation activities
  • Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across operations, product, engineering, HR, finance, sales, or customer support
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, Asana, Monday.com, Lucidchart, Visio, Miro, Notion, or similar platforms
  • Exposure to software implementation, system integration, process improvement, or digital transformation projects
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and business cases
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, HRIS, workflow systems, or internal business platforms
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
