Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to lead project execution from initiation through closure across transformation, technology, and business improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for managing timelines, scope, risks, stakeholder communication, governance routines, and overall delivery coordination to ensure projects are completed successfully within agreed budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
The ideal candidate has experience managing cross-functional projects in structured delivery environments and is confident handling planning, execution, stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, and governance control. This person should be able to coordinate teams, maintain momentum across workstreams, manage competing priorities, and ensure projects remain on track while supporting high-quality outcomes.
This is a remote USA-based role, suited for someone with strong planning, communication, and delivery leadership skills who can guide projects through complexity with discipline and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead projects from planning through execution, monitoring, delivery, and formal closure
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, workstreams, and delivery schedules
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, assumptions, and implementation approach in alignment with business needs
- Ensure project activities are structured, sequenced, and managed effectively across the full lifecycle
- Maintain focus on successful delivery while balancing scope, timeline, quality, and budget expectations
Timeline, Dependency & Milestone Management
- Track timelines, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables across multiple workstreams
- Identify risks to schedule, resource availability, or sequencing and take action to maintain momentum
- Coordinate with team leads and stakeholders to ensure deadlines, handoffs, and dependencies are understood and managed
- Monitor progress against plan and adjust schedules or priorities where required
- Escalate delays, blockers, or delivery concerns in a timely and structured manner
Team & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, operations, and leadership sponsors
- Establish clear communication channels, responsibilities, and expectations across all project participants
- Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, steering updates, and stakeholder check-ins
- Keep stakeholders informed of progress, decisions, risks, and required actions throughout the project lifecycle
- Drive alignment across teams to ensure delivery remains coordinated and business objectives remain clear
Governance, Reporting & Escalation Management
- Maintain project governance routines, status reporting, risk logs, issue trackers, decision logs, and escalation processes
- Prepare and present project updates, governance packs, summary reports, and delivery dashboards for leadership review
- Ensure project controls are in place for change management, scope management, and issue resolution
- Escalate risks, deviations, resource concerns, and critical decisions to the appropriate stakeholders at the right time
- Support governance forums and ensure project reporting remains accurate, timely, and decision-ready
Risk, Budget & Quality Control
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Ensure project delivery aligns with budget expectations, approved scope, and required quality standards
- Monitor resource usage, delivery progress, and implementation risks to prevent avoidable project disruption
- Support quality assurance by ensuring deliverables are reviewed, validated, and aligned with requirements
- Work with teams to resolve issues quickly while maintaining delivery integrity and stakeholder confidence
Delivery Model & Continuous Improvement
- Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches based on project needs and organizational standards
- Support structured implementation practices, sprint planning, phase gates, or milestone-based delivery where applicable
- Contribute to improvements in project templates, reporting methods, governance routines, and delivery standards
- Capture lessons learned, improvement opportunities, and post-project insights to strengthen future project execution
- Encourage consistent project management discipline across teams and initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience managing transformation, technology, systems implementation, or business change projects
- Strong planning, scheduling, and project execution capability
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing project scope, timeline, risk, budget awareness, and delivery quality
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or structured delivery models
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams
- Strong problem-solving, escalation, and decision-support capability
- Experience preparing governance packs, status reports, and executive updates
- Ability to work effectively in a remote and fast-moving delivery environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing digital transformation, software implementation, ERP, CRM, HRIS, automation, or operational improvement projects
- Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Trello, ClickUp, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar
- Experience working with PMO structures, steering committees, executive stakeholders, and formal governance routines
- Understanding of change management, user adoption, testing coordination, and post-go-live support activities
- Experience working with vendors, consultants, or third-party delivery partners
- Exposure to resource planning, budget tracking, RAID management, and dependency control
- PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, Agile, or equivalent project management certification is a plus
- Experience in remote-first, consulting, or matrixed delivery environments is preferred
