Job Description
Solutions Architect
Location: Remote, United States
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Remote
Department: Technology / Enterprise Solutions / Digital Transformation / Delivery
Reports To: Head of Technology / Director of Architecture / CTO / Delivery Director
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and business-oriented Solutions Architect to design end-to-end technology solutions across applications, integrations, infrastructure, data flows, and business systems. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and implementation-ready solution designs that support operational goals and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate has broad architectural experience across multiple technology domains and can work confidently with business stakeholders, engineering teams, integration specialists, and delivery leads. This person should be able to evaluate business needs, guide tool and platform selection, define solution structures, and ensure the final architecture is practical, maintainable, and aligned with delivery objectives.
This is a remote USA-based role that requires strong technical breadth, solution design capability, and the ability to bridge strategic planning with execution across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture
- Design end-to-end solution architectures covering applications, integrations, infrastructure, workflows, data movement, and supporting business systems
- Define overall system architecture for new implementations, enhancements, and transformation initiatives
- Translate business, operational, and functional requirements into scalable technical solution designs
- Develop architecture blueprints, solution diagrams, component interactions, and high-level implementation approaches
- Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, maintainability, security, performance, and business usability
Business Alignment & Technical Translation
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, process requirements, technical constraints, and delivery priorities
- Convert business needs into business-ready technology solutions that are realistic and implementable
- Align architecture decisions with operational workflows, compliance needs, cost considerations, and long-term business strategy
- Provide architectural guidance during discovery, planning, and solution definition stages
- Support the shaping of practical solutions that balance ideal design with delivery feasibility
Tool Selection & Platform Strategy
- Evaluate tools, platforms, vendors, and architecture options based on business requirements and technical fit
- Guide solution selection across areas such as enterprise systems, workflow platforms, integration tools, cloud services, business applications, and supporting infrastructure
- Recommend implementation structures that reduce complexity and support future scalability
- Assess trade-offs across build versus buy, platform compatibility, customization needs, and operational support requirements
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and architecture standards where required
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate across engineering, integrations, product, infrastructure, security, operations, and delivery teams
- Ensure all solution components are aligned across technical and functional workstreams
- Provide architectural support to project managers, developers, analysts, and implementation teams during execution
- Clarify dependencies, system boundaries, interface requirements, and integration logic
- Support smooth coordination between technical teams and business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
Technical Proposals & Planning
- Contribute to technical proposals, solution presentations, statements of work, architecture summaries, and implementation plans
- Support estimation, scoping, risk identification, and delivery planning from a solution architecture perspective
- Help define assumptions, constraints, solution options, and phased implementation models
- Participate in pre-sales or internal planning discussions where structured solution guidance is required
- Review project scope and architecture alignment before implementation begins
Governance, Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure solutions follow architecture principles, technical standards, security expectations, and implementation best practices
- Identify technical risks, architectural gaps, integration concerns, and scalability issues early in the planning process
- Recommend mitigation strategies and alternative approaches where needed
- Review solution quality throughout the project lifecycle to ensure architectural integrity is maintained
- Support documentation of architecture decisions, assumptions, and future-state design considerations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, systems architecture, or technical consulting
- Broad architecture experience across applications, integrations, infrastructure, and business systems
- Strong cross-functional technical understanding with the ability to work across multiple technology domains
- Ability to design business-ready technology solutions that align with operational and delivery needs
- Strong understanding of system design, integration patterns, architecture planning, and implementation structures
- Experience translating business requirements into high-level and detailed solution designs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to lead solution discussions, evaluate options, and support technical decision-making
- Experience working in remote, distributed, or cross-functional project environments
